Healthy Working Lives provides a range of free* training courses to employers in Scotland to support them in improving the occupational health, safety and well-being of their staff. A healthier workforce really does make for a healthier business.
We have different delivery styles of training available to suit all business needs and we work closely with our partners and customers to review and develop our training.
Our customer feedback also shows that our customers love our training products and would recommend them to other customers, (source: NET Promoter score of 75% of our customers being Promoters in 2018-2019).
* a cancellation fee may apply for late cancellation or nonattendance.
We have set up an Approved Trainer Portal to meet the growing demand from our customers to train their own staff. This type of training offers you the opportunity to use our face-to-face training resources free within your organisation.
Becoming an approved Healthy Working Lives trainer gives you access to a variety of training courses and also gives you the opportunity to be involved in the development of future training courses. It is also an excellent way to network with other organisations.
The current course list includes those below, but, as this is a new exciting area you can expect to see a lot more courses appearing
Each downloadable training course comes with training presentations and trainers workbook, we also provide course evaluation forms for delegates (optional usage, you can use your own).
The following are essential criteria for anyone applying to become a Healthy Working Lives approved trainer
As a quality assurance measure, all elements of HWL service delivery are part of an ongoing monitored evaluation programme.
Approved trainers will need to be able to support this by delivering at least one HWL course each year and submitting data on numbers of delegates completing the courses to HWL (via our online portal).
Approved trainers are also encouraged to attend periodic half day update sessions and we may ask you to attend a course/networking session, or issue evaluation questionnaires through you to your delegates.
