In an emergency, call 999

If you are worried that someone is at risk of suicide, or poses an immediate danger to themselves or others, dial 999 to contact emergency services. 

24 hour helplines

These services are all available 24 hours a day. They are free calls that do not show up on your itemised phone bill.

NHS 24 has a dedicated mental health support line that provides listening as well as practical help. Call 111.

Samaritans have a phone line run by trained volunteers. Call 116 123.

Shout run a text support service for people who find it easier to communicate over text message. Text SHOUT to 85258.

Domestic abuse

Scottish Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline. Call 0800 027 1234.
